Impotency Drug Price War Report
According to ANI (Asian News International) As of June 7, 2010 it was reported that a drug price war has broken out. Levitra has recently reduced the price of its tablets by half of the cost.
Currently, the Bayer Company is selling Levitra for 7.56 pounds instead of 16.27 pounds. As a result, industry experts say that rivals may be forced to follow suit. One of the main reasons why is because doctors are told to hand out the least expensive.
Why has Bayer done this? Word has it that this company has reduced the price of Levitra so that doctors are required to go for the cheapest. This is the standard that is set by the NHS (National Health Service) in England-for the doctors to prescribe the least expensive ED drug.
On the other hand, “The name of Viagra is as familiar as Hoover is to vacuum cleaners. But a price cut is likely to see people switching," says Dr. Doug Savage, a Doncaster impotence expert.
Only time really going to tell what is going to happen. If doctors do switch to the least expensive drug-which now is Levitra-it could save the local health care system in the UK quite a bit of money.
What could this mean?
This may be the case other places in the world as well. However, this news is so current as it has been only reported the first week in June of 2010.
In any case, the prices are low and even if this may not be good news for rival drug companies it would be great news for some men. They can now seek impotency treatment for less money.
Men would save money but if the other drug companies cannot follow suit it could mean they go out of business. It could also mean that people may start using alternatives to Viagra more often.
Some Advice
You should always get a doctor’s checkup before using any kind of impotency drug. This would ensure your maximum safety as you work towards correcting your erectile dysfunction problem.
Also in the news is information related to impotency and heart attacks that you should be aware of. This will help you remain safe as you enjoy as healthy of a sex life as possible.
In any case, if you are deemed healthy enough for sexual activity there are cheaper drugs than Viagra available. This may not cause everyone to switch as Viagra has made quite a name for itself. But it could if people find that Levitra works well enough for them.
